Host Hotel

The host hotel is COMPLETELY sold out on Saturday the 24th, so if you have a room and want to share, please contact us ASAP!

The 2012 Ball will be in the Grand Ballroom of the Affinia Manhattan Hotel, 371 7th Ave. (7th Ave. and 31st St.) in Manhattan. Our group rate is $179 a night plus tax for either a single bed room for up to 2 people and $209/night plus tax for a 2 bed studio suite. Call 212-563-1800 (press 2 to go directly to reservations) or Click Here to book online.

Sadly, we will not have our own floor as we had hoped, but will set up a party board by the ticket area so people can post room party notices. If you find a better rate for the Affinia on our weekend, contact us so we can try to get them to lower our group rate to match it and we can get your room nights counted towards our quota. Contact us . Thanks!

Airport Transport

From JFK

You can take the Air Train light rail to connect to the E train subway at Jamaica Station in Queens for $7 per person ($5 for the airtrain and $2.25 for the subway), and the E will bring you to Penn Station/34th St. @ 8th Ave., just one block from the Ball and several hotels. Exit Penn Station from the 7th Ave. entrance. The hotel is on the corner of 7th Ave. and 31st St. You can also use the Super Shuttle bus service that takes you to the Port Authority for about $12-20 per person on average. A taxi ride will run you $45 plus tolls and tip.

From LaGuardia

You can take the M60 city bus to either the N train subway stop in Queens and transfer to the #1 line at 42nd St. in Manhattan and take the #1 subway train to 28th St. and 7th Ave. stop for $2.25. If it particularly cold for late March, you can get off at 34th St./Penn Station and walk through Penn Station to exit at the 7th Ave. exit, which will put you 1 block from the Ball. The hotel is on the corner of 7th Ave. and 31st St. This will minimize your time outside. A taxi ride will cost you about $35 plus tolls and tip. There is an Express Bus service that will take you to Penn Station available for about $12 per person.

From Newark

Use the Super Shuttle or other shuttle buses to get to your hotel or to Port Authority, which run about $12-$20 per person. Then, take the A/C/E line to Penn Station/34th St. Exit Penn Station from the 7th Ave. entrance by walking through the Amtrak waiting area. The hotel is on the corner of 7th Ave. and 31st St.

DO NOT USE unlicensed town cars (aka Gypsy Cabs), as THEY WILL OVERCHARGE YOU! Each airport has a taxi stand where only legal taxis are allowed to queue up. Also, with the yellow cabs, they will sometimes try to haggle with you to trick you into a higher fare by leaving the meter off(ONLY JFK, LaGuardia and Newark are authorized flat rate destinations and are capped), so do not tell them where you are going until you are IN the cab and the meter is ON. If a town car service driver(they're usually in Lincoln Towncars or Crown Victorias) tries to pick you up, look for for the letters T&LC (Taxi and Limousine Commission) on their license plates. If it's not there, DON'T GET IN. Finally, always get a receipt in case of trouble.

Town Car and Shuttle Van services: Dial 7 Car and Limo, 212-777-7777, Carmel, 212-666-6666. Super Shuttle, 212-258-3826.

From Port Authority Bus Terminal

Take the A/C/E subway 1 stop DOWNTOWN to 34TH St./Penn Station. head into Penn Station and through the Amtrak Hall to the 7th Ave. exit.

From Grand Central Station

Take the subway shuttle to Times Square and transfer to the #1 subway line 1 DOWNTOWN stop to Penn Station/34th St. Exit Penn Station from the 31st St. and 8th Ave. entrance by walking through the Amtrak waiting area.

Amtrak Arriving at Penn Station

Exit Penn Station from the 7th Ave. entrance by walking through the Amtrak waiting area. The hotel is on the corner of 7th Ave. and 31st St.

Walking Tour

To hit all the public brick and mortar stores that carry rubber/latex gear in one big loop within a couple of hours(Paddles is only open at night), start with Purple Passion on W. 20th St by taking the #1 train to 23rd St. and walking 3 blocks SOUTH and then WEST on W. 20th St. Purple Passion is at 211 W. 20th St. on the NORTH side of the street.

Next, walk SOUTH down 7th Ave. to The Pleasure Chest, 156 7th Avenue South. The Pleasure Chest is mostly basic sex toys and some bondage gear. The Pleasure Chest may be familiar to fans of "Sex and the City" or "Entourage."

Next, walk to Christopher St. NY Fetish is two doors down from the downtown 1 train subway entrance on the SOUTH side of the street. NY Fetish has recently changed to a more mundane XXX store, but they still have some fetish gear and few pieces of rubber gear by Murray and Vern. London Fetish is a few doors down from NY Fetish on the same side of the street. The Leatherman is one block further West down Christopher St on the NORTH side of the street.

Once done on Christopher St., it's about a 20 minute walk across town via 8th St. to get to Trash and Vaudeville, who also carries a few pieces by Murray and Vern. They also carry tons of shoes/boots and club wear. 8th St. becomes St. Mark's Place at 3rd Ave. T&V is 3-4 doors down from the corner on the SOUTH side of the street.

Next is Gothic Renaissance. Walk one block WEST on 8th St. back to 4th Ave. and head North. GR is on 4th Ave. @11th St. next door to Halloween Adventure on the WEST side of the Street.

Finally, for the Baroness, walk East on E. 11th St. to Ave. A, go two block NORTH to E. 13th St., turn right and walk down to her shop at 530B E. 13th St. on the South side of the street.

To get back to the main subway lines from The Baroness, walk back to the corner of Ave. A and 13th St. and walk one block NORTH to 14th St. From here you can take the 11th Ave./WESTBOUND M14A bus to Union Square for the 4-5-6-N-Q-R-W trains, to 6th Ave. for the F train and PATH train to New Jersey), 7th Ave. for the 1-2-3 train and finally 8th Ave. for the A-C-E trains. If the weather is really bad, you can also walk to 14th St. and 1st Ave. to take the 8th Ave. bound L train, which makes the same stops to connect to the other train lines.

You can complete the loop in about 3 hours and it shouldn't cost more than $5 in subway/bus fare per person.
